Suns Continue Hot Streak vs. Kings: Win 104-88
The Suns are now 8-2 in their last ten games. Only the Jazz and the Thunder (we play tomorrow @ OKC) could be considered hotter as they are 9-1 in their last ten games. The Suns are doing it the only way it was possible, Big Al must have read my mid-season review because he is playing a deeper defensive rotation a lot more minutes, and when Leandro comes back… LOOK OUT.
Jason Richardson – I have to give you props without crap for the first time all year I think. You have made an obvious effort to step the defense up, and it’s showing. Our perimeter defense with Goran on the floor is substantially better so it’s important that J Rich be able to be on the court with him so they can have some scoring.
The Suns gave up less than 90 points in consecutive games. Can you believe it?
I can.
I am excited to see where the rest of the year goes from here. It’s a tight playoff race and seeds 3-9 in the Western Conference are separated by only four games.
It’s important to play with defensive intensity NON-STOP. It’s going to be important for the Suns to play at home so they can avoid some of the terrible shooting nights they have had on the road.
Amar’e is taking this to heart as of late. In his last 10 games he has only had -10 rebounds twice. Both times he had 9 rebounds. He is averaging 24 points and 11.6 rebounds per game in the month of February. He is blocking shots, taking chances on defense, and at a minimum it seems like he is trying.
Prop Bet: Amar’e Stoudemire will make the 2010 World Championship USA basketball squad. If you check out the 27 person list… He is going to have to beat out some pretty awesome people. Keep in mind, Kevin Durant was NOT on the USA 2008 team… so he almost definitely will be on this one.
Go Suns! Keep it up!
